# Cancer cell & stromal cell
 interaction

The stromal cells that contribute cancer cell microenvironment have various roles in cancer development. At primary site, it is well-known that the cancer stroma help cancer cell proliferate and promote intravasation. Interesting parts are its actions in during circuation and at metastatic sites. Those stromal cells may also help cancer dormancy (or latency) during metastasis (especially after primary tumor resection) and abet extravasation (if in brain, BBB penetration).
